Traditions are very nice during the Christmas Season. Board games around the dinning room table is my family's "sometimes" tradition. The sometimes is "if we have enough time". This year we did. But I don't think any of you would be interested in an exciting game of Chicken Foot, besides, I wanted to play with Drew's new digital camera. Ha ha! That and my pictures of last year's take over of Middle-earth were deleted. Um... Yeah.

We now join the battles, already in progress.

Green is Drew's good forces of Elves, Rirohim and Eagles.
Black is my armies of evil Orcs, Nazgul and Cavetrolls.
Red is Rugslaw's evil forces.
Yeah, not a lot of black. I say there should be a re-vote or something. I spread myself too thin, like butter scraped over too much bread.

This is a close-up of the action. Nice black spot in the middle of the board. I forsee my doom.

Note the baby monitor. Why? Cause I say so and it's my page. NOTE IT!

Sauron's forces are moving - far too quickly and far too many if you ask me. I had both Minas Morgul and Barad-dur at the start of the game! I didn't fortify enough. *tear*
Drew's army reserves all lined up ready to be deployed.
Mine on the other hand, seeing their end coming soon and swift decide to relax and enjoy what little time they have left. I think they were either drunk or already hungover, if they weren't too busy killing each other.
The red menace is coming up from the south. And Drew's *ahem* "reserves" were getting larger and larger. I think there was something wrong with the black dice.
Rivendell, the last elven stronghold. Literally. And the mines of Moria are still mine.
Instead of pulling his armies around the board, Rugslaw just left them on the side and had a few little orcs do all the footwork. Kinda looks like they're in a penalty box. HA! If only. Do you see all the Cavetrolls he has there?!
Weathertop is retaken! But at what cost? Rivendell is greatly weakened!

Drew said that her eagles were actually phoenixes and would return from the flames. And this is when I informed Rugslaw that I had a hidden Balrog in my mines and that his armies were doomed. So... Middle-earth was mine. Yes. That's it.

"The fires of Isengard will spread. And the woods of Tuckborough and Buckland will burn. And... and all that was once green and good in this world will be gone. There won’t be a Shire, Pippin."

The Shire's toast. Burnt toast.

Aw screw it.

"The nine have left Minas Morgul."

"They have a cavetroll."

"Certainty of death. Small chance of success. What are we waiting for?"

Yeah. Lessons learned this Christmas? Never invite my brother-in-law to play strategy games because he does those in his free time.

Jerk.

Merry Christmas!
