What is Lord of the Mst?

Lord of the Mst is a msting page for Lord of the Rings fanfiction. This page was created because of the ridding of mstings on fanfiction.net. But since I have my own webpage, we weren't worried; I can post them myself! So here it is. The msts that are kept on these pages are done by my sister Drew, and myself; that's it. There may be more people added to that list, but for now there is only two names on it.

Please enjoy the msts, and if you do happen to come across a Lord of the Rings fanfiction that is just screaming to be msted, send us the URL [Email removed. ~Archivist]. If it doesn't mst itself, most likely it will be by us. And if you find your material on this site and think we have msted your story unfairly, please do not hesitate to email us. We don't bite.

What is MSTing?

Msting (or MiSTing) is short from for "Mystery Science Theater," which is a television show on the Scifi channel in the United States (Saturday mornings if I am not mistaken; I do not live in the States). Mystery Science Theater 3000 (or MST3K) is about a human (Mike Nelson) and two robots (Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot) being forced to watch very, very bad 40's, 50's, 60's, (etc.) scifi movies (one exception being a German made-for-TV version of Hamlet) in an experiment to see how much garbage one can watch before their will is broken. To keep their sanity, Mike and the 'bots make humourous comments during the movie, be it dialogue or should effects or whatnot. To make a long story short, they keep their sanity, escape the experiment, get an apartment together... and watch good movies (while most likely making comments anyway.)

I have a story that I found that I want you to Mst. Will you do it?
There are certain stories that we don't mst:

1. Stories that mst itself. The stories that seem as if little (if not no) effort has been put into it. Spelling and grammar seems to be a crime against humanity and should be shot. We prefer stories to have reasonable spelling/grammar, perhaps a hint of a plot, and at least some thought put into it.

2. Hentai (japanese for perversion). We don't mst adult fanfiction. Drew and I, want this site to be a site where basically anyone can come and enjoy the msts. There are a few msts that are boarderline, but we put careful consideration into them and decided that they weren't too bad. I'm in the process of censoring one of the other stoies for language.

I like to mst. Can I be one of the msters on your page?
Well, I'll admit it right now; I'm a tough person when it comes to making me laugh with msts. I have seen so many msts that are absolutely horrid. And I have a weird sense of humour that, I think, leads to good msting humour.

But, that doesn't rule out the chance that you can be hosted here. Drew and I just need to see what you're capable of. Email a chapter to us all msted and we'll see what's what. [Email removed. ~Archivist]

Why is AW a blue elf with orange hair?
This started while being knee deep in another fandom; ReBoot.

The main characters on that televistion show have outrageous skin and hair colours. It's stuck with me, but the progression of the complete "AW" that you know today can be found here [Brought across from another FAQ. ~Archivist]:

6. Why are you a blue elf for your avatar and not a binome like your name sake?
For the first two and a half years, yes I "was" a binome. But I really like the sprites better (yeah I know I'm just like everyone else), so just for fun I drew "AW" as a random renegade guardian - mailing list fun that is.
Then after reading Lord of the Rings in the summer of 2001, I started to really like elves, so I just added pointy ears to the guardian and did my first art picture of him for my "no spoiler" campain waiting for S4... and started getting fan art of him. Go figure!
If I feel like it, I am the binome, but sometimes I feel like being taller and blue.

Did AW draw the banner?

Yes, this time he did. He felt guilty for using someone else's art without permission last time so he felt he should use his own. He loves it. Hope you do too.
